12twenty gives our Bruins support, personalized tools, and better networking experiences. Employers on the platform are intentionally seeking out UCLA students and students are matched with opportunities curated just for them. Your dashboard adapts to your preferences, major, class year, and career interests, making it easier to stay organized and access the resources you want.

Yes! You will not need to download an app, but the web version of 12twenty is designed to work seamlessly on mobile devices.
Handshake will be very limited for UCLA students after July 1. Employers will be directed to post jobs, internships, and events exclusively in 12twenty and counselors will host events and appointments exclusively in 12twenty. Be sure to be active on 12twenty to stay connected to everything the Career Center has to offer. We suggest you begin archiving your information from Handshake, which includes resumes and contacts. Our new platform will have similar resources, employers, and events.
To begin the deletion process, contact Handshake Support. To contact Handshake Support within your student profile, navigate to your initials in the top right corner and select Support from the menu that appears. Be sure to use the valid email address associated with your account.
You do have the option to change your Handshake account to a personal email before July 1 and continue using Handshake’s general platform. If you plan to use this version of Handshake, please be aware of the following:
- You will not see any UCLA events, workshops, fairs or appointments.
- The UCLA Career Center will not be able to access your account after July 1. Download your documents and reach out to employers you are in contact with – make a plan to stay in touch via Linkedin or 12twenty.
- The UCLA Career Center will no longer vet or approve jobs, employer, or events on Handshake after July 1. These opportuntiies are advertised to a wide variety of campuses and will not be targeted towards UCLA students specifically. 12twenty will include employers who are looking to hire from our Bruin applicant pool.
- Issues that may arise with Handshake must be addressed directly with Handshake and not the UCLA Career Center. Please be aware of any potential scams or fraudulent employers.
Yes! You will have access to similar employers, events, workshops, resources, and more. With 12twenty, you are able to target and save your favorite employers and jobs, so you can generate the opportunities and events that are most relevant to you.
You can also make your profile visible to prospective employers and recruiters who can choose to connect with you directly.

Congratulations on this accomplishment! For students who are graduating, you will continue having full access to appointments, events, jobs, and internships for three months post-graduation. All you have to do is log in to 12twenty. After the three months, you will have limited access.
If you begin the process of employment on Handshake, which could include interviews, and this is affected by the transition phase on the platform, the best practice is to download your materials and reach out to employers you are in contact with – make a plan to stay in touch via LinkedIn or 12twenty.
No, you will have to transfer your data on your own in to 12twenty.
Yes, by switching to 12twenty, you will have a brand-new account.
Handshake will keep a record of student accounts that have been created for up to 1 year. If aren’t comfortable with it, you can request to delete your account. To begin the deletion process, contact Handshake Support. To contact Handshake Support within your student profile, navigate to your initials in the top right corner and select Support from the menu that appears. Be sure to use the valid email address associated with your account.
To save your information on Handshake, manually download your uploaded documents (resumes, cover letters) from the My Documents section. Select the document you wish to save and then Download as a PDF. There is no single Export All button, documents must be saved one at at time.
Make a plan to stay in contact with employers through 12twenty, LinkedIn, or via email.
If you begin the process of employment on Handshake, which could include interviews, and this is affected by the transition phase on the platform, the best practice is to contact the employer directly, explain the transition, discuss a different modality for the interview. You can also use 12twenty to obtain their contact information in some cases. The employer should be aware of this, but you can contact us if you need more assistance.
Yes, they will still be active as we make this transition.
Our advice is to contact the employers to let them know that we are switching to 12twenty, if the employer is also joining us on the new platform, arrange continued communication on 12twenty. If the employer is not making the transition to recruit UCLA students via 12twenty, make a plan to stay in touch.
Yes! If your subscription is active for Handshake, you will have an account created for you in 12twenty and you will have access for the remainder of your subscription. There is no need to repeat the subscription process. Log in to 12twenty after July 1 to continue connecting with opportunities and events.
Graduate Students & Postdocs
Student profiles are curated to your degree and class standing. Graduate and Postdoctoral students will see employment opportunites, appointments and resources that are specific to your needs. All of the opportunities in your feed are meant for you.
As of July 1, it can all be done in one place, 12twenty! The Graduate Writing Center (GWC), Graduate Career Services (GCS) and Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC) will all use the 12twenty platform for appointments. Login to 12twenty, select appointments and select the appropriate appointment type.
