Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Stroke Stepdown) | Nights | $77/hr | Utica, NY
We are hiring an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg – Stroke Stepdown unit in Utica, New York. This is a 13-week travel contract with consistent night shifts and competitive pay.
Job Details:
- Location: Utica, NY
- Duration: 13 Weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
- Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Openings: 2
Compensation:
- Base Rate: $77/hour
- Overtime pay available
- Additional pay available for holidays, charge shifts, and callbacks
Unit Overview:
- Med Surg – Stroke Stepdown Unit (64 beds)
- Adult patient population
- Common cases include stroke, altered mental status, COPD, CHF, renal/dialysis, pneumonia, and general medical-surgical conditions
- Equipment: IV pumps, NG tubes, feeding tubes
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit
- Monitor and assess patients with neurological and medical conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Requirements:
- Active New York RN License (Required)
- Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience
- Stroke Stepdown experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- NIHSS Certification (required prior to start)
- NURSYS verification
- Valid Driver’s License
Additional Information:
- Floating may be required
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Local candidates accepted (within 75 miles – local pay applies)
