The Tenants Law Firm is a mission-driven, nonprofit law firm dedicated to protecting tenants’ rights, advancing social justice, and advocating for marginalized communities in Los Angeles. We work with nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and advocacy groups to expand our impact beyond traditional legal services. We are seeking a highly motivated Nonprofit Partnerships Intern to support our strategic growth initiatives. The Intern will assist in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing nonprofit partnerships, and advancing collaborative projects that align with our mission. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of law, social impact, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential nonprofit and community partners aligned with the firm’s mission.
- Support outreach efforts to new partners and maintain communication with current partners.
- Assist in the preparation of partnership proposals, presentations, and informational materials.
- Track partnership performance and engagement activities in internal databases.
- Contribute to the planning of joint events, webinars, or campaigns with nonprofit partners.
- Support grant research and partnership funding opportunities where applicable.
- Perform administrative tasks related to business development and partnerships as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program (fields such as Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, Marketing, or related areas preferred).
- Strong interest in social justice, nonprofit work, and/or legal advocacy.
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools or project management software is a plus.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Prior internship or volunteer experience with a nonprofit, legal organization, or business development team.
- Familiarity with fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit partnership management.
