Linchpin Strategies, a boutique government relations firm located in Washington DC on Capitol Hill, is looking for a junior policy associate to assist senior staff in a wide range of client advocacy and support activities. Linchpin specializes in health and education policy, and young professionals with 1 to 3 years of professional experience and a strong interest in these policy areas are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting communications
- Researching policy positions
- Staffing client policy committees and drafting policy position papers and responses to Federal Register notices
- Preparing and designing fact sheets, backgrounders, weekly updates and other materials
- Planning and staffing client conferences
- Supporting Congressional briefings and meetings
- Assisting in responding to requests for information from the Administration and Congress
Strong writing and communication skills, with ability to multi-task, essential. The ideal candidate will be a flexible self-starter with attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team environment, and motivation to learn new skills and issue areas. Prior experience in an executive or legislative branch office, Administration, campaign or similar setting required.
