
I-CAN (Intracollege Career Advocates Network) is a new program providing training, support, and guidance to UCLA faculty and staff that will prepare I-CAN Advocates to empower UCLA students to reach their professional goals.
Using a student-centered approach, I-CAN participants will learn the fundamental elements of career planning and development.
I-CAN Advocates will:
• Attain a foundational knowledge of the career development cycle and career decision-making process.
• Gain knowledge of the skills and professional competencies that employers expect and how to help students be career ready.
• Acquire essential coaching skills to effectively assist students with career planning.
• Learn to assist students with envisioning & setting and achieving personal and professional goals related to their career development.
• Learn the services and resources offered by the Career Center to effectively refer students when needed.
