The Career Advocates Network is a group of staff, faculty, and administrators who have taken part in three 90-minute trainings that show how to best support students in achieving their post graduation and lifelong learning goals.

Participants of the program receive a certificate and become members of the UCLA Career Advocates Network, helping to build a campus ecosystem where all students have access to information and resources about the career development process, as well as equitable opportunities for transformative life outcomes.

Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals of the student career development process and how students need to prepare for lifelong learning.
  • Learn how to have simple career conversations with students that unlock the mystery of the career development process, develop their confidence and sense of belonging, connect with resources, and inspire them to move forward
  • Know how to use and promote Handshake and the Career Center's digital tools
  • Understand basic principles of resume and cover letter review
