Each year, the UCLA Career Center’s DC Fellows Summer in Washington Internship Program supports a cohort of motivated Bruins as they build skills and grow their professional networks through a ten-week internship in Washington, DC.  UCLA undergraduates from all majors serve in full-time and part-time internships with a wide range of government, non-profit, and private sector employers based in the Metro DC area.  Since its launch in 1966 as a student-led initiative, this UCLA Career Center program has opened the door to a meaningful career experience for over 3,000 Bruins. DC Fellows is open to all UCLA Undergraduates

All current UCLA undergraduates who have maintained good academic standing are encouraged to apply to the DC Fellows Summer in Washington Program.  Each candidate who meets this basic requirement and who applies by the January 30 priority admission deadline will enjoy provisional acceptance to the DC Fellows program.  The application is non-competitive and serves as the starting point for preparing internship applications. This inclusive application process is intended to focus your time on applying and interviewing for competitive DC internships which may have early deadlines. Our Career Center Team is eager to help you update your resume, connect with employers, and make your best summer internship decision as early as possible.  

Summer Housing Available at the UC Washington Center

On February 1, a limited allotment of UCLA summer housing at the UC Washington Center (UCDC) will first be allocated to Bruins who have confirmed their acceptance of  a summer internship offer. In addition, DC Fellows applicants who wish to continue a current internship with their DC-based employer also have priority on UCDC housing.  After February, any remaining UCDC housing is allocated on a rolling basis to students who accept a confirmed internship offer.  However, every Bruin who applies to DC Fellows by January 30 is welcome join the optional UCLA-UCDC housing wait-list, and Career Center staff will advocate for this interests of all Fellows who wish to stay at UCDC.
