Career Peers

Hello everyone! My name is Vyvy, and I’m a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Global Health. As a returning Career Peer, I’m thrilled to become more involved in the various events, opportunities, and workshops the Career Center provides. I truly enjoy working with my fellow students and look forward to using the skills and knowledge I developed over the years to help them professionally and gain confidence in their career journeys. Additionally, I love networking with others and gaining more knowledge about different career experiences.

My all-time favorite spot on campus is Tongva steps. I love lying on the grass with my picnic blanket while reading a book, painting, taking naps, or simply unwinding. In my free time, I love singing, dancing, journaling, cooking, playing sports, exploring new places, playing games with friends, and enjoying a good cup of Matcha!

Hi everyone, I’m Arielle, a fourth-year Psychology major with a Spanish minor at UCLA. Woohoo senior season! I am so excited to be returning to the Career Peer Internship for my second year as a manager. The Career Center is an incredible resource where the dedicated staff works tirelessly to help Bruins achieve their career goals. As a Career Peer, I’m passionate about supporting my fellow peers in unlocking their potential and navigating the professional world. From polishing resumes to acing interviews, or simply offering some much-needed encouragement, I’m here to guide you toward career success. And trust me, the process can be fun and exciting!

For my favorite UCLA campus spot, I love lying on Tongva Lawn and photosynthesizing in the grass. In my spare time, I love trying new styles of dancing (salsa and bachata are my current obsessions), singing/screaming ballads with my friends and family (Adele, Bruno, Olivia, and Disney songs), exercising (pilates, swimming, yoga, running, hiking), journaling, meditating, and of course, being a career peer. In general, I love living life and doing what makes me happy. So, I would love to chat, connect, and help make your UCLA journey a memorable one. Come visit :)

Hello everyone! My name is Evan, and I’m a senior majoring in Cognitive Science with a Computing Specialization. I love working with the Career Peer team, which is why I’m super excited to continue my work at the Career Center for a third year! This year, I hope to combine the expertise I’ve acquired throughout my years of advising and professional experience to effectively mentor students who are preparing to transition from their undergrad into their professional life–whether they’re going into industry or grad school. My favorite spot at UCLA is definitely Jimmy’s Coffee House–they’re consistent and play great music. In my free time, I love to sing 90s R&B songs, mountain bike, read books, try new coffees, and crush my friends in Mario Kart!

Hello, my name is Isha and I am a fourth year English Major/Labor Studies minor. I am a second year transfer and I am most looking forward to helping my fellow peers with their career development and getting to understand and utilize all the amazing resources here at the Career Center. My favorite place on campus is definitely the study pods in Powell. Excited to meet you all soon!

Hi everyone! My name is Tiya Shah and I am a junior at UCLA majoring in Bioengineering. I am most looking forward to meeting everybody at the Career Center and forming some great friendships! My favorite UCLA campus spot is definitely Kerckhoff Coffee House. In my spare time, I love trying out new places to eat and going restaurant hopping – huge foodie here!  

Hi everyone, I’m Amy, a third-year majoring in Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Computing. I’m excited to meet you and answer any career queries you may have, from resumes to internships and everything in between. My favorite spot on campus is Anderson Hall’s lobby; I love the minimalist yet uplifting aesthetic. In my free time, I enjoy exploring, skiing, golfing, dancing, singing, and trying new things! I can’t wait to help you along your journey and guide you towards your next endeavor.  

Hi everyone! My name is Daniela Derramadero, and I’m an incoming transfer student from Santa Ana College. I’m a third-year student majoring in Education and Social Transformation. As a first-generation Hispanic college student, I’m passionate about working in the higher education field. As a Career Peer intern, I’m most excited about connecting with students and helping them achieve their career goals and readiness.

In my free time, I love exploring new boba shops and eating Oaxacan food, listening to music (Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, K-pop), and watching comfort TV shows and movies. I’m thrilled for this school year and can’t wait to start my role as a Career Peer intern!

Hello everyone! My name is Diamond Luna, I am a first-year Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics student here at UCLA. Of course this is my first year being a part of the Career Peer Team and I am super duper excited to be working with you all! As a Career Peer, I am most looking forward to helping fellow students with offering encouragement and guidance on how to land internships and job opportunities while also sharing insights on resume building and interview prep. It’ll be rewarding to witness your guys’ growth and confidence as you all prepare to enter the professional world!  My favorite spot on campus as of now has to be Royce Hall and its Romanesque Revival style. Sitting there in the middle of a nice warm day in-taking all the beauty is really rewarding.

My favorite spot on campus is Tongva Steps— I love relaxing on the grass and soaking up some sun in between classes. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, cooking, and crocheting.

Although I haven’t been on campus for long, my favorite spot (so far) has been the Tongva lawn! Additionally, I love to read, crochet, journal, and exercise in my free time! I can’t wait to meet with you all and connect as we figure out what your next steps could be!

Hi everyone! My name is Sofia, and I’m a third-year student at UCLA studying Political Science and English. As a Career Peer, I’m looking forward to promoting professional development for fellow students and growing alongside the other Career Peers throughout the academic year.  

My favorite study spot on campus is the Anderson School of Management. It has a beautiful library–plus some other hidden indoor and outdoor spots–with plenty of places to charge your computer. In my spare time, I love to listen to music, crochet, read, and explore fun food spots in LA!
