Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2007 Western Regional Careers in Student Affairs Day. This year’s event will be held on Friday, October 19 at the University of California, Los Angeles campus. The all day event brings together undergraduate student leaders, graduate students from local professional preparation programs and student affairs professionals from the western U.S.. The event includes workshops, speakers, and panel presentations that cover a variety of topics related to pursuing a career in Student Affairs.

This year we expect to have approximately 400 conference participants. Although the conference participants are at various points in their career path, the majority of the participants are typically undergraduates or recent graduates who are looking for guidance on how to start their career in student affairs. As part of the conference program we will hold a Graduate School Fair to provide these students with information on student affairs professional preparation programs.

The Graduate School Fair will be held from 2:30 to 3:30pm. and is a wonderful opportunity to recruit from a pool of students that are specifically interested in student affairs.  There is no fee to participate in the fair and each program representative(s) will be provided with a table. Registration for the Grad School Fair is now open and the deadline to register is Friday, September 28.  To register please email Bridget Montoya with the following information:

  • Name of University/Department/Program
  • Name of representative(s) who will be attending or you are unable to send a representative, but would like to send materials
  • Representative(s) contact phone number and email
  • If you will be bringing your materials or shipping them

Please note: If a representative registered for the Graduate School Fair would like to participate in the conference program, including workshops and lunch, they must also register for the conference as a participant. Representatives cannot be accommodated for the Graduate School Fair unless they pre-register through the conference's website. The cost to register is $35 for non-students and $25 for students. The registration deadline is October 5.

If you have questions regarding participating in the Graduate School Fair, please contact Bridget Montoya by email or at call 310.825.0830.

We look forward to seeing you in October!

Sincerely,

The 2007 Western Regional Careers in Student Affairs Day Committee
