UCLA Career Center
Monday 19 ~ Tuesday 20 ~ Wednesday 21 ~ Thursday 22 ~ Friday 23

Friday, April 23, 2010
1pm, UCLA Career Center, Third Floor Conference Room (Location Change)

In many ways, there has never been a better time to open up your world through a memorable internship, fellowship, or volunteer experience abroad.  Hundreds of teaching programs, nonprofit groups, and government agencies are seeking ways to connect with Bruin talent (naturally).  But the extraordinary range of options for both students and new grads can make planning your next adventure a real challenge.  As a first step, we invite you to connect with the “voices of experience” for perspectives on the joys and tough realities of working outside the U.S.  This session will touch on everything from a two-week volunteer gig to internships, fellowships and career assignments -- with plenty of tips on how to start your own journey.

Speakers include (subject to change):

Edward Kulakowski, UCLA Diplomat in Residence, Senior Foreign Service Officer, U.S. Department of State

Malcolm Quon, International Programs Counselor, UCLA International Education Office

Jennie Woolf, Program Coordinator, UCLA Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars
