Pre-Health
Career Services - Masters
Programs, Professional Health Science
The following programs are designed for students that want to continue their
pursuit of a professional health science degree. Program requirements are included
on the school web sites listed below. Reasons to choose this path can include:
- Time to improve academic
credentials
- Chance to pursue a different
focus before starting professional programs
- Interest in professional
programs at that particular university or college in the future
- Flexibility of a masters
degree (for research, teaching, administration, etc.).
*Please note that most graduate
programs require a 3.0 overall GPA to apply. Sometimes exceptions can be made
but that is at the discretion of each program. If your GPA is far below the
requirement, you should consider retaking the lower division science coursework
outside of UCLA, possibly through a more structured “post-baccalaureate”
program. Go to www.aamc.org or www-hl.syr.edu/hpap
for a comprehensive list of these types of programs.
