The Job Search Handbook for People with Disabilities, written by Dr. Daniel J. Ryan, is a comprehensive, well written resource for career planning and job seeking individuals and illustrates important advice and resources for those with disabilities. For over 10 years, Dr. Ryan has researched career development for people with disabilities and has presented his findings at professional conferences throughout the United States.

Dr. Ryan shares information on topics such as ability and interest assessments, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills and salary negotiation. Integrated into his advice are detailed and practical outlines to help people with disabilities consider different strategies while developing career paths.

Highlights from his book include important information on assessing the issues related to one's disability to assist one in making sound career choices, how to appropriately answer questions related to one's disability during an interview, how to discuss accommodations for the disability, rights for individuals with disabilities as defined by the American Disabilities Act and an appendix with a list of employer web sites for recruiting and hiring qualified individuals with disabilities.
