Neil Schofield, PhD, Associate Director, Medical Writing, Abraxis BioScience
Neil Schofield is the head of the Regulatory Medical Writing group at Abraxis Bioscience, a fully integrated global biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery, development and delivery of next-generation therapeutics for cancer and other critical illnesses. He is responsible for the management of medical writers who prepare documents for submission to global regulatory agencies (such as the FDA) in support of new drug applications. Neil previously held the positions of Medical Writer, Senior Medical Writer and Manager at Baxter Bioscience (Westlake Village, CA). Prior to becoming a medical writer, Neil conducted postdoctoral research in the field of cell adhesion and cell signaling at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, CA. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology, and a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, both from the University of Manchester in the UK. He is an active member on career panels at UCLA, the Scripps Research Institute, and the Salk Institute.
